Ma/Thakur/
Swamiji Puja Agenda and Mantra
Part 2
According to Revd. Swami
Dayatmanandaji Maharaj, puja is pouring out one’s heart’s love in adoration to
the deity.
The Agenda followed for 8+ years for Vedanta Society of North Texas
(Dallas chapter) before a permanent house was bought and for 12+ years for Vedanta
Society of Iowa, for Thakur, Ma and Swamiji, has been more or less the same.
Here is the general guideline. Some alternatives are also listed for variations
if desired. This can be done individually or in group.
The Altar must be setup way before puja starts.
During puja:
The Altar must be setup way before puja starts.
During puja:
- Pujari offers one flower/ petal with each mantra in the big bowl.
- All devotees recite Pushpanjali mantram synchronously with the pujari while holding a flower in palm.
- After Arati, Pujari bows down and mentally utters Holy Mother’s/ Thakur's / Swamiji' Arpan mantra and steps aside.
- Devotees come to the altar one by one, offer their flower in the big bowl (kunda holding the offered flowers by pujari) and bows down. They can also recite the arpan mantra mentally.
- After Arati, transfer the Bhog offering to kitchen and mix each item with its original source and mix in.
- After all transfer has taken place, assemble all devotees together in the kitchen and surrounding area
- Recite Brahmarpanam and Holy Mother's Prayer all together.
- Enjoy prasad..! 😋

Holy Mother’s
Prayer
|
Oh Lord, Please, accept our offering,
Bless us make us pure and all loving.
May we not accuse, demand or complain
But love respect and cooperate with all
–
May we not find fault with others
But try to find our own faults –
May we not treat others as strangers,
But learn to make all our own.
May we feel the whole world to be our
own.
Peace, peace, peace be unto all.
